Information:

Kris Kristofferson wrote and first recorded Why Me Lord (as Why Me) in 1973. His recording (Monument 8571) reached #16 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and #28 on the Easy-Listening chart. Sales exceeded a million copies.

 

Elvis performed Why Me Lord in concert on March 20, 1974, at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis. RCA recorded the concert for release on the Elvis Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis LP.
