Information:
This hymn was written by C. Austin Miles in 1912. The
complete title is (He Walks with Me) In The Garden. According to a poll by
The Christian Herald in the early 1980s, In The Garden was the third
most popular hymn song Protestants, following The Old Rugged Cross and What
a Friend We Have in Jesus. A version of the hymn was heard in the 1960 movie
Wild River.
Elvis recorded In The Garden at RCA’s Nashville studios on
May 27, 1966.
Lyrics:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The song of God discloses
1. And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing
1. (repeat)
