Information: Loving You, Volume 1 featured four tracks from the Loving You LP and that album's cover photo. When Billboard's extended-play chart premiered (for one week ending September 28, 1957), Loving You, Volume 1 was its first number one record (*). It remained at the top of the chart for five weeks. Two versions of the cover were issued: one with a strip at the top listing the songs and record number, and one without the strip. (*) Elvis's EPs occupied four of the top 10 positions that week: Loving You, Volume 1 (#1), Just For You (#3), Peace in the Valley (#9) and Loving You, Volume 2 (#10). |
